Lucky Day, as the name suggests, is an app where you can play gambling-based games to win real money. But, you don’t have to spend anything, it’s totally free to play. They will never ask you to deposit cash in order to play.

Any app that claims to pay just for scratching virtual scratch-cards and anything like that makes me go on a review-reading spree. I’m sure the same goes for you else why would you be reading this

How Does Lucky Day App Make Money?

The answer is simple and you might have already guessed it. Advertisements.

Ads are the obvious way they generate the money required to pay its users. While in the app, ads sometimes will pop-up randomly and almost every time when you scratch a card you’ll be forced to view a video ad that plays when you claim the prizes.

Note: After the recent update you will be forced to watch a video ad after every 2-3 scratchers.

Sometimes you can skip the ad and sometimes you cannot. I know it’s annoying but how do you expect them to earn the money when you don’t spend anything from your pocket. It has to be done.

Now that you know how Lucky Day generates income & how it’s free, it’s time for the main part of this Lucky Day app review. Let’s take a look at the different ‘gambling opportunities’ offered by the app to earn money:

Instant-win Scratchers:

In the Luck Day app, you’ll get 15-25(or more) instant-win scratch cards every day. With the scratch cards, you can win both Cash and/or Tokens.

You need to match 3 of the given symbol to win the given prize.

Cash prizes can be as high as $50,000 and as low as $1.

And you can win up to 200,000 tokens per scratcher. These Tokens can be redeemed for PayPal cash and various other gift cards.

They are called instant as the prizes are added instantly to your account unlike some of the other games like Lotto. Not because prizes would be sent to you as soon as you win, although it would have been great if they sent the cash prizes directly to PayPal account as soon as we won. But we have to wait and reach the minimum payment threshold to withdraw which is $10.

You should know another thing about this app- although they say everything depends on luck. Only half of that is true. Winning the 15,000 scratch card is the easiest and as the prizes go high your odds of winning go down. Here, I’m talking about Token scratch cards.

When it comes to big Cash scratchers you have close to 0% chance of winning. I don’t think they even distribute those cash prizes. They are just for show.

Up till now, I’ve only won 2$ and a 3$ scratch cards. The rest of $3 came in bits from the bonus scratches. I’m stuck with $8 for the last 2 months. So you can expect the same. After you have won 7-$8 you are gonna have a hard time winning the rest $2.

I’m not saying that Lucky Day is a scam. It’s a legit app. I’ve been paid many times. But I’ve never heard or read someone claiming that they won $500 or even $50. So don’t have high expectations.

Daily Lotto:

With Lotto, you can win thousands of tokens and dollars every day. Up to $100, 000 and 500k tokens.

All you have to do is pick 5 numbers and 1 lucky number(randomly) from the list of 59 numbers and leave the rest to luck.

The more of your numbers match the announced numbers the higher prize you’ll win.

Raffles:

In Lucky Day raffles you can win thousands of dollars.

To view, the available raffles tap the menu button and then Raffles. Here you’ll see all the ongoing raffles.

The only thing I didn’t like about the Raffles is that no matter the amount of cash prize, each ticket will cost you 10,000 tokens. So, you need to pay the same amount for tickets of $165 and $50 Raffles.

But the good thing is that you will daily get free tickets to the $50 daily raffle and the monthly raffles.

Free Tokens:

You can navigate to the free tokens section from the side menu.

In this section, you can complete offers and watch videos to earn Tokens. You will earn 1,000 tokens per video.

Blackjack:

I tried to figure out how Blackjack works by playing…

And was still confused as to how the hell it happened. You see, I’m terrible at gambling and cards. So if you don’t already know how the game of blackjack works.

Here are the Basic Rules when playing Blackjack:

1. Blackjack starts with players making bets.
2. The dealer deals 2 cards to the players and two to himself (1 card face up, the other face down).
3. Blackjack card values: All cards count their face value in blackjack. Picture cards count as 10 and the ace can count as either 1 or 11. Card suits have no meaning in blackjack. The total of any hand is the sum of the card values in the hand
4. Players must decide whether to stand, hit, surrender, double down, or split.
5. The dealer acts last and must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 through 21.
6. Players win when their hand totals higher than the dealer’s hand, or they have 21 or less when the dealer busts (i.e., exceeds 21).

Every 24 hours you will get free tokens. The amount of tokens increases for every successive day that you open the lucky day app.

On day 1 you’ll get 3k Tokens, day 2: 4k and so on. On day 5 you’ll also get a $ Wheelspin.

You can also earn tokens by completing offers which I don’t recommend.

Rewards at Lucky Day:

You can redeem your tokens for a variety of rewards like Marshall’s,  Starbucks, Best Buy,  but the useful ones are PayPal and Amazon.

But the main problem here is that the number of Amazon and PayPal gift cards are not much. And there are at least thousands of users with enough tokens waiting for those rewards. As a result, these gift cards are sold out pretty quick.

Gift cards/rewards are refilled every 24 hours when the cards reset/expire. You can see the countdown in the center of the top bar.

You can redeem the cash to your PayPal account. The minimum amount needed is $10.

Lucky Day App Review: Summary

Lucky Day is a good choice if you’re looking to earn a few bucks without doing something that feels like work. I would say it is fun to play games, but it isn’t. And not because I suck at gambling but. because of the video ads that you can’t skip and will be forced to watch almost every time you scratch a card, play lotto or just browse the app.

This wouldn’t have been nearly as annoying if you could skip those ads and there were fewer video ads. It makes the app annoying rather than fun. But, sadly that’s how they earn.

Like I said earlier in this review, after the recent update there aren’t nearly as many ads as there used to be. And of course, now it is less annoying to use the app. But I still didn’t improve my rating because of the reward store. There aren’t enough rewards for the users to redeem their tokens. As a result, they are sold out pretty quickly.

But the good thing is you are not doing something that requires your attention every second. You can simply use the Lucky Day app while you watch tv/movie or doing anything else. This way can earn a few bucks every month without bothering yourself.
